The seminar aims to address issues related to religion, conflict, and peace to provide a better understanding of issues affecting society in Singapore today.

Venerable Kwang Sheng welcomed the students back to the College. He exhorted the students to continue their learning and practice and to keep in mind their mission to contribute to Buddhism and benefit more sentient beings.

On 22-27 June 2017, in order to strengthen dharmic friendship among Mahayana Buddhist colleges and visit the founding temples of Chinese Buddhism, Rector Most Venerable Sik Kwang Sheng led a delegation of 30 people comprising the 4th Cohort of BCS English BA and Chinese BA graduates on a study trip to China for 9 days.

On 1 June 2017, Most Venerable Ze Wu, Vice-President of the Buddhist Association of China, President of the Buddhist Association of Xiamen, Abbot of Xiamen’s Nanputuo Monastery, and Rector of the Buddhist College of Minnan, led a delegation of 138 people, comprising members of the Buddhist Association of Xiamen and the 15th batch of graduates of the Buddhist College of Minnan, to “retrace the maritime silk route” and visited Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery (KMSPKS) and the Buddhist College of Singapore (BCS).

On the morning of 27th May 2017, the Graduation Ceremony for the 4th Batch of Chinese and English BA classes was held at the Hall of No Form.

On 21 May 2017, the Rector of BCS Venerable Sik Kwang Sheng and Dean of Academic Affairs Venerable Chuan Xiong warmly welcomed a group of 26 guests from Hong En Temple from Guang Xi Province, China.
