On 12 March 2018, the Buddhist College of Singapore (BCS) held its re-opening ceremony for the new semester . The ceremony was graced by the Rector Venerable Kwang Sheng, Vice-Rectors Venerable Dr. Chuan Sheng and Venerable Chuan Hou, Assistant Vice-Rector Venerable Dr. Chuan Qing, the Dean of Academic Affairs Office Venerable Chuan Xiong, the Head of Admin Office Venerable Chuan Deng, the Head of Monastic Training Office Venerable Quan Zhi, the Vice Dean of Nuns’ Campus Venerable Xian Guang, Class Mentors and esteemed lecturers.
Venerable Kwang Sheng was glad to welcome the students back to the College as their presence makes the temple more vibrant. He further reiterated that the mission of the College is to cultivate students to understand Dharma and be disciplined so that they could better serve their monasteries and Buddhism. Despite encountering various difficulties in its 12 years of operation, the College has achieved some results. He is confident that the College will continue to make good progress because of the students’ good learning attitude and the support of staff. The Rector further reminded students to practice mindful eating, which is a way of practice and contributes to a healthier body. Last but not least, the Rector wished the students all the best in their practice and study.
