On 30 August 2016, Venerable Ze Wu (Vice President of The Buddhist Association of China, Abbot of South Putuo Temple, Rector of Buddhist College of Minnan) leading a group of 6 including Mr. Huang Jia (Principal Staff Member of the Fourth Department for The State Administration for Religious Affairs, China) and Venerable Miao Jie from Buddhist Association of China to accompany the new students from China to the Buddhist College of Singapore. They were warmly received by the Rector, Venerable Sik Kwang Sheng, and the BCS management team.
Venerable Sik Kwang Sheng and the delegation discussed such issues as the roles and management of Buddhist colleges in the conference. They subsequently participated in the 2016 New Students Welcome Ceremony, during which Venerable Sik Kwang Sheng warmly welcomed the delegation and the new students, and enjoined the students to learn and practice diligently while taking care of the health. Venerable Ze Wu lauded the extraordinary achievement of BCS in the past ten years, recollected the enduring Dharmic connections between China and Singapore, and expressed high expectations of and offered words of encouragement to the students. After the ceremony, gifts were exchanged between both parties and a group photograph was taken to commemorate the event.
