BCS School Re-opening Ceremony for Academic Year 2018/2019

At 10:30am on 3 September 2018, the Buddhist College of Singapore (BCS) held its re-opening ceremony for the new academic year. The ceremony was graced by the Rector Venerable Kwang Sheng, Vice-Rectors Venerable Dr. Chuan Sheng, Venerable Chuan Hou and Venerable Chuan Xiong, the Head of Administration Venerable Quan Zhi, the Head of Monastic Training Venerable Chuan Kong, the Vice Dean of Nuns’ Campus Venerable Xian Guang, Class Mentors and esteemed lecturers.

Venerable Kwang Sheng was glad to welcome the senior students and the new cohort of students to the College. He shared that the College has a team of highly qualified teaching faculty, and the College would do its best to nurture students who are willing to learn. He said that throughout the years, the operational system of the College has proved successful. Every department has its own role and responsibilities; if an issue emerges, it can be escalated along the reporting line and be resolved. Moreover, besides awarding academic certificates to the graduates, we also have to educate the students as a whole, including critical thinking, character and integrity. After his speech, the Rector presented awards to the top students of the last academic year and photos were taken to commemorate the occasion.
