On 31 August 2015 at 10.30am, the Buddhist College of Singapore (BCS) held its school re-opening ceremony for the new academic year 2015/2016 in the Dharma Hall. The ceremony was graced by the Rector Venerable Kwang Sheng, Vice-Rectors Venerable Dr. Chuan Sheng and Venerable Chuan Hou, the Dean of Academic Affairs Office Venerable Chuan Xiong, the Head of Admin Office Venerable Chuan Deng, the Head of Monastic Training Office Venerable Quan Zhi, Class Mentors and esteemed lecturers. Venerable Kwang Sheng welcomed everyone back to the college and thanked all for their contributions for the past year. He also expressed gratitude for all the hard work put in by everyone including the kind donors for the construction and development of the new BCS building. Venerable Kwang Sheng urged the students to study hard and mentioned that short courses or workshops will be provided to further develop their understanding on Dharma, Buddhist Management and Meditation. The Rector has plans to transform the Dharma Hall building to a Meditation Centre for spiritual cultivation. He concluded his speech by urging everyone to uphold the virtues of gratitude and humility in their daily living as these virtues will contribute to a happier life. Following the speech, Venerable Kwang Sheng presented awards to the top performers of individual classes.
