25 May 2019, was a joyous occasion for 8 students from the Buddhist College of Singapore (BCS) 2017 Chinese and English MA class as they attended the convocation ceremony at Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University (MCU) in Thailand, led by Vice-Rector Venerable Dr. Chuan Sheng.
The Rector of MCU, Most Venerable Professor Dr. Phra Rajapariyatkavi, warmly hosted the students. During the convocation, the Supreme Patriarch of Thailand, Most Venerable Somdet Phra Ariyavangsagatayana, conferred Bachelor, Master, PhD and Honorary PhD degrees to an estimated 4,000 graduates from around the world, including Sri Lanka, Korea and Taiwan. This grand ceremony was graced by approximately 10,000 monks and laypeople. Amidst the celebratory backdrop, the ceremony concluded with a group photo-taking session of the graduates.
