Official opening and 10th anniversary celebration of the Buddhist College of Singapore: Welcoming Dinner

At 6:30pm on 9th September 2016, Most Venerable Kwang Sheng, Rector of the Buddhist College of Singapore, hosted a welcoming dinner at Grand Hyatt Hotel, Orchard Road, for our overseas guests. Delegates of the Buddhist Association of China, Most Venerable Sheng Hui, Venerable Hong Du, Venerable Huai Quan, Mdm Lei Lihua (Deputy Director of the Center for Religious Research of China, the State Administration for Religious Affairs of China), Professor Sunanda Madduma Bandara (Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya of Sri Lanka), Venerable Jie Xiang and Venerable Fa Yuan (Vice Rectors of the Buddhist College of Minnan), BCS academic and administrative staff, and BCS graduates, were present.

Venerable Dr. Chuan Sheng, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of BCS, delivered the welcoming speech on behalf of the college. He said that the flourishing of Buddhism has its foundation in education, and the product of education is realized through the nurturing of the Sangha. He thanked committed and dedicated academic and administrative staff, patrons and donors, and friends and well-wishers for their most heart-warming support in the development of the college. Thereafter, Venerable Kwang Sheng exchanged gifts with distinguished guests and graduates, and everyone enjoyed the dinner.
