Visit to China’s Buddhist Association and State Administration for Religious Affairs of P.R.C

An entourage led by Rector Venerable Sik Kwang Sheng visited the Buddhist Association of China and the State Administration for Religious Affairs of P.R.C

From June 1st 2016 to June 2nd 2016, Rector Venerable Sik Kwang Sheng, Dean of Academic Affairs Office Venerable Chuan Xiong and Head of Administration Venerable Chuan Deng, visited the Buddhist Association of China (BAC) and the State Administration of Religious Affairs of P.R.C (ARAP). They received warm welcomes from BAC’s President Venerable Shi Xue Cheng and Deputy Secretary-General Venerable Hong Du, and ARAP’s Vice Minister Mr. Jiang Jianyong, two Vice Directors of the Fourth Department Mr. Zhao Zhong Hai and Mr. Mei Guang Quan, Vice Director of the Foreign Affairs Department Mr. Xue Shu Qi and others, respectively.

Venerable Sik Kwang Sheng appreciated BAC’s assistance in making the new students recruitment in China a success and ARAP’s support in BCS’s student recruitment activities in China throughout the years. He further introduced BCS’s progress in education and the recent establishment of the new college building, and invited BAC’s President Venerable Shi Xue Cheng, Minister of ARAP Mr. Wang Zuo An and Vice Minister Mr. Jiang Jianyong to attend the 10th anniversary celebration of BCS.

Venerable Shi Xue Cheng applauded Venerable Sik Kwang Sheng’s efforts in Dharma propagation in Singapore, the cultivation of bright young monks and the forging of warm interactions between Buddhist communities in both countries. He also hoped both sides could keep strengthening the communication and collaboration in Buddhist culture and Buddhist education, to more effectively promote Chinese Buddhism.

Vice Minister Mr. Jiang Jianyong appreciated the contribution made by BCS in these 10 years in Sanga education, Dharma propagation, and international communication and collaboration. He further expressed that ARAP would continue to support this warm relationship between the Buddhist communities in China and Singapore.
