The Buddhist College of Singapore (BCS) successfully held the Consecration Ceremony and Open House on 4th October 2015, signifying that the new building is finally ready for use. The Abbot of Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery and Rector of BCS Venerable Kwang Sheng conducted the ceremony and over 1000 Venerables and lay devotees turned up to participate in this momentous occasion.

The new 6-storey building is divided into the college and dormitory block. The college block comprises of classrooms, meditation room, computer room, staff offices, conference rooms and student activity room while the dormitory block is the residential area for Sangha. With the sound of chanting reverberating throughout the building, Venerable Kwang Sheng led the retinue of Venerables and student monks to shower blessings in every floor, made offerings and conducted puja.

After the ceremony, Venerable Kwang Sheng thanked everyone for the joint efforts to fulfil this noble aspiration. In addition, he recounted the arduous history of constructing the new building and expressed gratitude towards the late master Most Venerable Hong Choon for his emphasis and wishes to promote Sangha education.

To share this joy, the classrooms, staff offices and student dormitories were opened for visitors.
