BA Programme

The duration of the Bachelor Degree programmes is four years. Applicants for either English or Chinese programme are required to sit for the corresponding English or Chinese language entrance examinations. Similar subjects are offered in both English and Chinese programmes, differing only in the medium of instruction.

The curriculum covers three broad areas, with the majority on specialized Buddhist subjects, followed by relevant languages and subjects in humanities/social sciences.

Specialized Buddhist subjects cover the history, literature and teachings of Indian, Southern, Northern and Tibetan Buddhism.

Languages include the learning of classical languages in traditional Buddhist texts, English/Chinese language and essay writing. Humanities/Social sciences will provide an introduction to sociology and Chinese culture.
