The Vice-Chancellor of University of Kelaniya (UOK) Professor Sunanda Madduma Bandara paid a visit to the Buddhist College of Singapore on 4 May 2015. With him were the Founder of the Buddhist Library Bhante Bellanwila Dhammaratana, Dean of the UOK’s Faculty of Humanities Professor Lakshman Senevirathne and Director of the Centre for Distance Learning Dr. P.M.C. Thilakarathne. The Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Venerable Dr. Chuan Sheng led a retinue comprising the Dean of Academic Affairs Office Venerable Chuan Xiong, Deputy Dean Dr. Ji Yun and Assistant Professors Venerable Dr. Chandawimala and Venerable Dr. Chang Qing in hosting the distinguished guests.Professor Bandara highlighted the University’s vision to become a world-recognized university and offered to work with the College to develop MPhil and PhD programmes in future. Apart from providing an update on the English BA in Buddhist Studies degree collaboration with the UOK, Venerable Dr. Chuan Sheng hoped to continue friendly relations with the UOK. Following the meeting, the guests were given a tour of the Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery. The visit ended with a group photo-taking and a sumptuous lunch prepared by the Monastery.
