Welcoming Ceremony for the 2018 Cohort of Students

On 29 August 2018, the Most Venerable Pu Fa, Vice President of The Buddhist Association of China, Mr. Huang Jia, United Front Work Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (Research Investigator of the former College Affairs Department for The State Administration for Religious Affairs, China) and the Most Venerable Yuan Ci, Director of the Education Department for the Buddhist Association of China accompanied the new cohort of students from China to the Buddhist College of Singapore. They were warmly received by the Rector, the Most Venerable Sik Kwang Sheng and the BCS management team.

Venerable Sik Kwang Sheng and the delegation had a short discussion in the Conference Room, followed by a short tour of BCS. They subsequently participated in the Welcoming Ceremony 2018 for New Students, during which Venerable Sik Kwang Sheng warmly welcomed the delegation and the new students. He enjoined the students to adapt to the new environment in order to learn well and make contributions to Buddhism. The Most Venerable Pu Fa recollected the enduring Dharmic connections between China and Singapore, and expressed high expectations of and offered words of encouragement to the students. After the ceremony, gifts were exchanged between both parties and a group photograph was taken to commemorate the event.
