From 10th September to 11th September 2016, the Affiliation Committee Meeting and Assurance Committee Meeting were held between Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University (MCU) and the Buddhist College of Singapore (BCS).
The Most Venerable Dr. Kwang Sheng (Rector of BCS) welcomed the 12 MCU Committee Members led by the Most Venerable Prof. Dr. Phra Brahmapundit (Rector of MCU) and consisting of Phra Sophonvachirabhorn (Vice-Rector for Foreign Affairs), Prof. Dr. Phra Sigambhirayarn (Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs), Phramaha Suthep Peupuad (Assistant to the Rector for Audit), Venerable Dr. Seng Hurng Narinda (Director, International Relations Division), Phra Somboon Phanna (Dean, Graduate School) and Phramaha Sutas Nakkarnrian (Assistant to the Rector for Audit).
Venerable Dr. Chuan Sheng (Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs) together with other BCS Committee Members presented an update on the College’s enrolment and graduation numbers as well as introduced the facilities of the new campus. MCU agreed that the programmes had been managed in accordance with the standard criteria stipulated by the Office of the Higher Education Commission, Ministry of Education of Thailand. Further recommendations were also outlined to strengthen the College’s academic endeavours and community outreach. The meeting concluded with both institutions agreeing to continue their partnership for the benefit of Buddhist education.
