Buddhist College of Singapore (BCS) 4th Batch of Chinese and English B.A. Graduation Ceremony

On the morning of 27th May 2017, the Graduation Ceremony for the 4th Batch of Chinese and English BA classes was held at the Hall of No Form. The Rector, Most Venerable Sik Kwang Sheng, Vice-Rectors Venerable Chuan Sheng and Venerable Chuan Hou, Assistant Vice-Rector Venerable Chuan Qing, the Dean of Academic Affairs Office Venerable Chuan Xiong, the Head of Admin Office Venerable Chuan Deng, the Head of Monastic Training Office Venerable Quan Zhi, the Vice Dean of Nuns Campus Venerable Xian Guang, Class Mentors, esteemed lecturers, students and guests attended this event.

The ceremony began with the Song of the Triple Gem. The Rector firstly congratulated the students on getting their BA qualifications. He said completing a 5 year course is just the beginning. He urged students to continue their learning with humility, propagate Buddhism and help others. He exhorted the graduates that in any undertaking, there is no need to be preoccupied with the end results; as long as they have given their best efforts, results will follow according to their karmic ripening.

Thereafter, the Rector presented certificates to the Chinese and English BA graduates. Following that, BCS Lecturer Venerable Ming Fa gave a rendition of the musical piece “Pu An Zhou” on the Chinese zither. 2 students from the Nuns’ Campus also performed “Song Bie (Goodbye)” on the violin & electronic organ. Toward the end, student representatives Venerable Ran Hui and Venerable Shan Nian gave a thank you speech respectively. The ceremony ended with a group photo taking and a sumptuous lunch was served in honor of the guests.
